Switching from Fixed Assets CS

From Fixed Assets CS to a register that stands on its own.

Fixed Assets CS lives inside the CS Professional Suite and is often kept by the preparer rather than the company. If the register is moving in-house, or the firm is consolidating clients, this is how it converts.

What we need from you

The asset list export with all treatments (Tax, Book, State, AMT, ACE, and any custom), the depreciation schedule and the Form 4562 from the last return, and the disposal report.

How the tie-out works

  1. You send the export and your last filed schedule. We confirm the file within one business day and give you a fixed conversion quote.
  2. We load every asset with prior accumulated depreciation in each book. Methods, lives, conventions and elections are mapped, not re-derived, so history is preserved exactly.
  3. You run the last closed year in parallel. Our reconciliation report lists cost, accumulated depreciation and current-year expense by account and by book against your filed figures.
  4. Differences are explained before go-live. Each one is documented with the cause, usually a rounding rule or a convention setting in the old system. You keep the reconciliation for your auditor.
  5. Go live with the same account manager. Five to seven business days from the file to the parallel run.

Things to know

Reviewers of Fixed Assets CS describe difficulty importing bonus and mid-quarter assets and rounding differences after conversion. Both are exactly what the parallel run exists to catch, and the reconciliation is documented before go-live.

For firms: the register does not depend on a tax-suite licence, and the Form 4562 worksheet exports for whichever preparer software the client's return uses.

Cost

Quoted on the export; multi-client conversions for firms are quoted per register with a firm rate.
