For retail and financial services
Hundreds of locations, leasehold improvements everywhere, and a close that cannot slip.
Retail chains and banks hold assets by store or branch, capitalise leasehold improvements with lives tied to the lease, and close monthly. The register has to allocate by location, handle openings and closures as events, and post cleanly.

Can we track by store or branch?
Location is a field on every asset and every report groups by it. Opening a location is an addition batch; closing one is a disposal batch with gain or loss, or a transfer to another location.
How are leasehold improvements handled?
Qualified improvement property at 15 years for federal with bonus where elected, and a book life tied to the lease term. Both live on the same asset in different books.
What does month-end look like?
Run the depreciation expense report for the period, review the additions queue, post the journal file, and close the period. Closed periods lock; adjustments go into the current period with a note.
Banks: what about branch premises and equipment under regulatory reporting?
The roll-forward and net-book-value reports by branch supply the premises and equipment figures; the tax books handle the bank's federal and state returns.
Can head office see everything and stores see nothing?
Yes. Roles limit users to entities and locations.
| Locations | Unlimited; on every asset and report |
| Leasehold improvements | QIP treatment federal; lease-term life for book |
| Close | Period lock; journal export by period |
| Access | Roles by entity and location |
| Scale | 10,000 records on plan; above by quote |
